Doane University is seeking a part-time Project Coordinator on the Crete, NE campus. This position will serve multiple functions within the education division related to the coordination and implementation of activities associated with the Robert Noyce Teacher Track 1 Scholarship and Stipend Project, Developing STEM Educators with Resilience, Vision, and Expertise for Teaching in High-Need Schools (Project SERVE).

The Project Coordinator will be of critical importance to the success of the project due to the myriad responsibilities of the position that contribute to all areas of the project and the support this position will provide to faculty, Noyce Scholars, administrators, teachers, and other project stakeholders.

This position is part-time for 12 months up to 28 hours per week and 100% grant-funded through July 30, 2023, by the National Science Foundation.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience in program development, implementation, and management
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of programs and strategies
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and/or Mac with high technical aptitude.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, Google Products, and online conferencing systems.
  • Capacity to work effectively with teams and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse population of constituents
  • Ability to conduct educational programs and training workshop

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the following topics related to K-12 education preferred:
    • Cultural competency
    • Effects of poverty, rural and urban education settings
  • Familiarity with promising practices related to the following topics is preferred:
    • Secondary and middle level STEM teacher development and teaching in high-need rural and urban schools
    • Instructional practices promoting high levels of student engagement, hands-on science/math Instruction grounded in real world relevance
    • Community and project based learning


  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in education or a STEM field preferred
  • Master's degree in curriculum and instruction or related field preferred
  • Middle-level or secondary science teaching certificate preferred.
