Graduate Assistant - Annual Fund

Doane University in Crete, Nebraska is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Advancement Office as a Graduate Assistant. You will work with the VP of Advancement and Executive Director of the Annual Fund to create and execute annual solicitation plans including direct mail, email, social media, events and face to face fundraising efforts to achieve annual fund and departmental goals. The successful applicant will receive a monthly stipend and is awarded a graduate tuition waiver. Must be available during specified hours to assist with Advancement programs - 25 hours per week, some evening work will be required.

The successful applicant's opportunities may include:

  • Coordinate Greek Challenge in the fall (including but not limited to training and supervising callers, managing calling schedule, coordinating stewardship and outreach for donors, launching online giving site, providing weekly updates to Greek groups and alumni office, tracking progress)
  • Coordinate Spring Phonathon (interview and hire calling team, train callers, work with annual fund director and data services to plan calling schedule, coordinate stewardship and donor outreach)
  • Plan and execute multichannel campaigns (including social media and email promotion of phonathon, special campaigns, reunions, etc.)
  • Assist with Student Philanthropy Committee & Senior Gift campaign (year-long campaign with two focused events - one in the Fall and one in the Spring)
  • Serve on the "One Day. One Doane." planning committee and help promote and execute giving day events and activities, primarily on campus events
  • Execute a small portfolio of donors and prospects to cultivate and steward.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required for Position:

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree

Tuition waiver requirements:

  • Meet all admissions requirements for the graduate program.
  • Attend graduate classes at Doane University on a full-time basis.
  • Maintain satisfactory progress toward the graduate degree.
  • Graduate in 2 years, however; the award may be available for a maximum of three years with the VP of Advancement's approval.
