Doane University, a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences college in Crete, NE, invites applications for the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief Academic Officer/Faculty Office Supervisor. The successful applicant will provide administrative support to the CAO and the Office of Academic Affairs (including the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs). The organization of information (both written and electronic), schedule management, and facilitation of effective communication are all of primary importance in the day-to-day responsibilities of this position. The executive assistant will proactively serve as a liaison between Academic Affairs and a wide range of individuals and organizations, both internal and external to the University. We are looking for a confident communicator who demonstrates the ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Associates degree and a minimum of 3-5 years working in an administrative assistant/executive assistant role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of constituencies inside and outside the university
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruption and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet applications
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Professional maturity and judgment, including exceptional discretion, confident communications skills, and a capacity for resourceful initiative in a team context

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Broad knowledge of the University's various administrative units, policies, procedures, and regulations is preferred
