Doane University invites applications for a Student Accounts Associate who will serve as the primary contact for students, parents, university personnel and other parties concerning students' financial obligation to the University.

The Student Accounts Associate serves as an advocate and an advisor providing quality customer service and counsel to students, parents/guardians and authorized parties. The position's responsibilities include handling business office inquires via email, phone, mail and in person; recording charges, payments, outside scholarships and refunds on students' accounts; managing payment plans and processing all in-house and collection accounts. We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, demonstrates excellent customer service and has the desire to understand and work effectively with a diverse population.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required for Position:

  • Associates Degree or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Experience with student accounts, billing, accounts receivable/payable or related field preferred.
  • Experience using common office software: Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Google forms, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of math and accounting concepts in order to maintain a student account system.
  • Ability to interpret technical financial information presented in various formats in order to analyze, record and report in the student accounts system.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in both written and oral communications
  • Possesses high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Works effectively under pressure with frequently occurring deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, without constant supervision.
  • Possesses time management, critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
