Doane University invites applications for the position of Senior Marketing and Brand Strategist at its nationally recognized campus in Crete, Nebraska. As a member of our Advancement Team, we will depend upon your expertise to develop effective promotional and brand campaigns to drive user activation and engagement growth that highlight and motivate our university partners to maximize their fundraising efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the campaign strategy and creative process, leading initiatives to increase productivity, efficiency, and alumni and donor participation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Advancement Team to deliver approved projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Work in collaboration with Doane University Marketing to create cohesive messaging and social media content.
  • Plan and coordinate execution of campaigns to ensure the right message is reaching the right individuals at the right time while delivering a consistent brand experience, voice, and visuals across all marketing channels.
  • Create and manage a robust social media calendar to ensure fresh and timely content is being shared consistently across all Doane Alumni channels.
  • Recruit, manage and provide content to volunteer group of "Social Media Ambassadors".
  • Proactively coordinate and schedule meetings with clear meeting outcomes.
  • Responsible for sending out project bids, requesting quotes, processing invoices, and other departmental billing responsibilities as well as maintaining physical and digital archives of projects, estimates, print materials, and invoices.
  • Oversee the accuracy of revisions when presenting drafts to colleagues.
  • Coordinate requests for quotes, processes invoices, and other departmental billing responsibilities.
  • Manages timelines with print vendors and other production-related partners.
  • Maintain a high quality and compliance standard of product and delivery.
  • Oversees production of two magazines and President's report each fiscal year

Education Required for Position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of marketing experience working in digital marketing.
  • Experience leading and managing a marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.
  • Thorough understanding of branding principles and tactics throughout multiple forms of media.
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, identify, and resolve problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytics skills.
  • Creative and proactive problem-solver. Can anticipate needs and drive innovative solutions that keep projects moving intuitively & seamlessly.
  • Detail oriented with a keen eye for quality assurance to ensure project deliverables are meeting milestones and expectations.
  • Comfortable working with partners at all levels.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of perspective.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.
  • Experience in a college, university, or a national campaign environment helpful.
  • Experience with an alumni database or donor management and phonathon software systems.

Education Preferred for Position:

  • Master's Degree
