Doane University, a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences university in Crete, Nebraska, invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice - Multiplatform Journalism to begin August 2023. The department houses robust student media offerings through print, online, radio, and live-streaming services. Responsibilities include teaching 18 credit hours per year (Fall and Spring, 3/3 load) and advising Doane University's student newspaper, The Owl, and its online counterpart, Doaneline. Courses will cover subjects including basic reporting; writing and editing for print, digital, audio, video, and emerging platforms; investigative journalism.
Candidates must have a Masters's degree in Journalism or a related field and evidence of successful teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have professional experience in reporting for multimedia platforms and experience advising student media.
